Located in Cowpen Bewley, not far from Billingham, the Three Horseshoes is an attractive country pub with a real emphasis on food.

It was refurbished in November 2006 and the leaseholder is also the chef. The choice ranges from speciality sandwiches through hearty comfort food to dishes with a real international flavour such as Thai spiced roast salmon , confit duck or a very popular slow roasted belly pork with black pudding lyonnaise potatoes.

Local produce is used wherever possible and there are various menus to choose from -- a la carte, a good-value 'family favourites' set menu served lunch and early evening, a lunchtime sandwich menu and a specials board that regularly features house favourites like Chicken parmesan and Steak & ale pie.

The Three Horseshoes runs occasional family fun days and BBQs in summer when you can expect the sangria to flow.
